Purchased this text book after reading her book Resonance, which captivated my attention and I couldn't put the book down. The text book is excellent. It gives you a beginner's guide to using microcurrent. Very informative. You will need to attend the training session(s) to learn how to treat a broader range of pain syndromes.

After 12 years living with Fibromyalgia, FSM cured me in 3 treatments. 200 NFL players use this therapy for helping them with injuries. Why aren't the rest of us told about it by our doctors? It's time people found out about this! (Evidently it also cures IBD, which I spent 5 years curing with Elaine Gottschall's book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle.) Sure wish I had know that FSM could have cured me in 8 weeks!

I have used Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) in my practice for almost a decade. It is one of the primary physical medicine/sport medicine tools I use, in addition to interferential, auriculotherapy, therapeutic ultrasound, acupuncture, and tui na. I have a robust referral network that includes several chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and pain management specialists. My referral partners often send people to me because I can get results with their patients when their own modalities alone are not sufficient. FSM plays a significant part in that effectiveness.The previous reviewer's knee-jerk assessment that this book has "very significant problems" is both overstated and naive. Dr. McMakin, along with her staff and advisors, pretty much single-handedly developed FSM. In doing so, she developed tools that allowed other clinicians to do the same intervention. To say that there are problems with her book because she has a financial stake in her approach is like saying Dean Ornish is conflicted because he benefits from his writings on a heart-health diet.Visionaries like Dr. McMakin, Dr. Ornish, Dr. Oz, Dr. Weil, and Dr. Starwynn, who developed the Acutron Mentor machine and protocols I also use, employ books to promote themselves, their products, and their approach. Anyone who is not aware that a book is a marketing and education tool, not a research study, or who thinks they can learn to safely use a physical medicine tool without hands-on training in a seminar should perhaps spend a bit more time educating themselves about reality before making pronouncements in a public forum. Dr. McMakin has worked tirelessly to promote research within this field, but when and if other researchers will take up that opportunity is not her responsibility.That being said, I was a bit disappointed with the book after having waited so long for it to be published. As other reviewers have noted, "Frequency Specific Microcurrent in Pain Management" is an excellent introduction to the clinical utilization of FSM and I am grateful to have such a well-rounded reference text. I have not yet had a chance to view the included DVD, but I am sure it will useful, not only for myself, but in educating the newer members of my staff about what FSM is so they can, in turn, better educate our patients. I would have appreciated some discussion about the more complex conditions FSM practitioners face, however, such as migraines, as well as more guidance about other systems FSM can treat, especially the GI, endocrine, and immune systems.Overall, however, I am happy with the book and highly recommend it to thoughtful clinicians who are looking for effective non-pharmacological, non-surgical options in managing a variety of clinical problems, particularly those involving pain and functional disorders.

Love Sasha O'Hara Coloring Books! Coloring these sassy snarky pages will give me a feel good attitude for sure and with 35 one sided pages to choose from in this book I will get many hours of enjoyment and a variety to suit any mood. The designs vary in difficulty from moderate to detailed so should appeal to a lot of people. The paper is medium thickness and works fine with gel pens, markers bleed through so you will need a backing sheet to protect the next page.Sasha included a color test page in the front of the book as well as a link to some free content so look for that in the middle of the book! Get one or get a few to pass around to your friends too and have some kick-arse fun coloring in this newest book from a fun and funny artist.

Sasha O'Hara does it again! How can she just keep getting better? This is the 6th irreverent coloring book (I'm including her journal and yearly planner) and simply the best. Focusing on the positive and the aeration end of adult coloring books, Sasha gives it that extra added kick to make it go souring above all the others. Yes, there are explitives in the book and it is designed for an adult audience, but who didn't get a kick out of practicing the use of those words out back of the garage with your friends on a hot summer night? It's fun, and can be very positive to be a little naughty. As my other half says, "Special words for special occasions". I wanted to be really special so I bought two books. Peace.

I initially bought this for a colleague who needed some laughs; I'm not one who is typically into adult coloring books. However, this one is fantastic. There is an array of designs - some simple and others more complex depending on the time available. The assortment is bound to have something fitting your mood on different days. As one can imagine, based on the title, there is quite a bit of colorful language. After giving this book to my colleague, I bought my own copy. It's fun to color, drink a nice beverage, and eat some popcorn. Highly recommended.

There are a lot of swear words coloring books for adults out there. Most of them are just cuss words with doodles. What I love about Sasha O'Hara's books and especially this one, is that her illustrations and sayings are sassy and snarky. Many of the pages have an attitude that is what we have always wanted to say but restrain ourselves. The designs range from simple to complex, but all are easy to see and color. I recommend this book for all the coloring folks out there who are not upset by cussing.

About the Author

Growing up in a conservative small town along the Maine coast, Kevin Blackwood never anticipated visiting Sin City. With aspirations of becoming a college professor, he traveled the usual roads of academia, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in religious education and Biblical history. His journey took a sudden detour in 1984. While working on his doctorate at the University of Oregon, he learned how to count cards and started playing blackjack on weekends. His studies began to pale in comparison to the exciting world of gambling. And one day, after a futile effort to find a parking spot on the crowded campus, he bagged his plans to teach church history, quit school — and headed to Las Vegas. Since then, Blackwood has lived what many would consider the American dream, earning big bucks while working only part-time, winning consistently at blackjack tables all over the world. More recently, he has jumped on the Texas Hold’em bandwagon, with several poker tournament wins under his belt. His unusual life experiences inspired Blackwood to write a novel, The Counter (Wooden Pagoda Press). In addition, he is the author of Play Blackjack Like the Pros (HarperCollins), the most comprehensive guide to becoming a winning blackjack player. He has also written for magazines, including Casino Player, Midwest Gaming and Travel, Blackjack Insider, and Gambling.com. I like this book and have never been disappointed with any of my "For Dummies" books. My interest is only in learning the mechanics of the various games so that my periodic trips to the casino can provide more enjoyment from a variety of challenges. This book provides that and more. However strategies for winning are not my goal and the book provides much more info than I require. This is an observation and not a critique. If you are looking for more than "nuts and bolts", look no further. "Crib sheets" would be a nice addition.

I just picked this up before an upcoming trip to Vegas, and read through most of it. The author's writing style is very readable, he goes to great lengths to simply explain all the common table games and their relative level of fun versus the house advantage cost of playing them. I highly recommend this book for those looking to add some new games to their casino experience.

This book is great for those wanting to learn how to play the basic casino games (poker, craps, roulette, etc.) and know table etiquette. I haven't finished the book yet but what I have read so far has been very helpful. The book is extensive and covers just about everything, plus the dashes of humor make the reading fun and enjoyable. Shipping was prompt, item arrived on the expected delivery date and was in excellent condition. If you are contemplating whether or not to buy this book, do it....it is money well spent.

No you won't win thousands of dollars by reading this book, but if you follow the guidelines you won't lose thousands either. I saw a guy in Vegas drop $500 in 20 minutes at craps doing something that this book said in the craps section to absolutely not do: This book has good advice on what not to do and what to do. If you want to have fun gambling, if you are worried about just throwing your money away because you don't know the rules, if you worried about not knowing table etiquette or which hand motions to use when, if you are worried about looking a fool to the others at the table, then this book will calm your fears. Most importantly it points out what the odds are for each game, and when you find a game that suits you the book shows you how to possibly be a winner by playing conservatively and how not to definitely be a loser by falling for the "showy" bets. I thought it to be a very good book for a beginner.

Great info and easily readable. Lots of good points and very honest about gambling as a losing proposition. Helped me feel comfortable as I approached the tables, and gave me confidence - not that I would win, but that I would not embarass myself by not knowing the rules and etiquette of the games. Tells you what the games are with the lowest casino edge (there are none with a players edge), and what the real sucker bets are. Tells it like it is - no hype and drama.

Tells pretty much all you need to know to get started playing for real money in the casinos. I ordered this book only to discover I already had it in my collection, so into the little free library it goes.

This is a well-organized, realistic introduction to casino gambling. It doesn't pump you full of air and try to get you all excited about how to take on the casinos and become a millionaire, like some books unfortunately do. It just presents the facts of the games, as well as the strategies to use (and the ones to avoid.)Although it does not go into great detail about the finer points of the games (nor does it claim to), it provides enough information to get you started, and encourages you to learn more if you should so desire.I think this is a great book for casino newbies, and helps someone enjoy the casino without gambling away your retirement fund.

I taking my first trip to Las Vegas since 1986, and I am not much of a gambler. I was looking for a primer that explains what to expect in Vegas and how to play the different games. Casino Gambling for Dummies tells rookies exaclty what they need to know for a trip to the Strip. The book explains the various games of chance. Each chapter starts with rules and then moves on to strategies. The first 65 pages of the book discuss odds, etiquette, and what to expect. If you are planning your first trip to a casino, this book is a great investment!
