Bernard M. Bass is Distinguished Professor of Management Emeritus and Founding Director of the Center for Leadership Studies at Binghamton University, State University of New York. Dr. Bass is the author of over 300 articles and 24 books concentrating on leadership, organizational behavior, and human resource management. Between 1952 and the present, he has been the principal investigator on numerous federal, state, and private foundation research grants.  He was the founding Editor of The Leadership Quarterly, and he has consulted with and conducted training for many of the Fortune 500 firms and has lectured or conducted workshops in over 40 countries. Professor Bass is also a Senior Scientist for the Gallup Organization and a member of the Board of Governors for the Kravis Leadership Institute.For the past 25 years, Professor Bass has focused much of his research on transformational leadership and management development. In 1994, he received the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions. In 1997, he was honored by the Society for Psychology in Management with the annual Lifetime Award for the Practice of Psychology in Management. Ronald E. Riggio is the Henry R. An easy read that identifies the key characteristic of transformational leaders (as well as transactional and pseudo-transformational leaders). This book puts some "social science" around the information that most of us have "gut feelings" about anyway. Those looking to improve their leadership skills will benefit from this book. The real shame is that those managers and supervisors who generally "suck" and are happy with mediocrity probably won't pick the book up, much less read it.

The digital download for this book is the WRONG book and I just paid for a book that I already bought because the one in the picture is not the book that was downloaded to my kindle!!! Don't buy it unless they fix the problem.

It is a great book for management majors. My majoring is management and I use this book for my leadership paper. I recommend to eveyone who interested in transformational and transactional leadership style.

Good shape!

Easy to read,good examples, theories presented in a simple and interesting way, not bad at all. Tables were confusing but overall not the worst leadership theory book I've had to read by far. It's a really short book so I thought it was a little expensive for it being just a little booklet basically. I really learned a lot from it honestly, so it was worth getting. I recommend you take the MLQ test so as you're reading you can be comparing how you scored in the different categories it discusses.

This book is a great tool for understanding Transformational leadership!! This is what you need if you were to write a paper on the subject! It's also a great addition to your collection for personal growth

I have been a fan of leadership ideas for many. In my career myself and others have always known what works best. Bass & Riggio very carefully adds definition and supportive research behind every aspect of Full Range Leadership. It can get no better than this.

I took a few Undergraduate classes on business leadership and this book was very helpful and is probably one of the best books on Leadership.

Excellent source book, great to have with you during Pilgrimage. Our family went for Umrah, and I had my kids (teens) read also to learn the procedures and memorize du'as.The diagrams are very good, also, illustrated in a text-book example manner that made them easy to understand and memorize.I agree that it is good to read a more detailed book also, but this was a fantastic guide book.

I was looking for good material to get familiarized with Hajj. Out of few books i bought, this is the best one. Comprehensive and Visual explanations are good.

This is very nice brief but compact view of the requirement and actual ritual of Hajj & umrah. Wonderfully done, beautiful pictures nd great printing.

This is a good introduction book for those who know nothing about Hajj. It lists the basic steps involved in a Hajj step-by-step, however, it does not go into explanation or detail of the steps. For example, the step "Going to Makkah" has four bullet points under it. There is no explanation of where to stay in Makkah, no list of accomodations, no introduction to Makkah, no information about tour groups or others who may arrange for Hajj trips.Other steps are similarly lacking in detail. Like three types of Hajj are listed but there is no mention as to which Hajj will fit what type of curcumstances. The author suggests to enter the al-masjid Al-Haraam from as-Salam gate, however, the sketch of the masjid Al-Haraam on the next page lists all the other gates except the As-Salam gate!!!I was quite disappointed with lack of details in this book. I will have to look for another book for details.

I performed hajj last year. My husband purchased this book for me just before we left. During the long plane ride I read the whole book. It was very good about telling you the essential things you need to know about hajj and all the steps to performing the Hajj. I saw the Hajj as one of the most important exams of my life and I wanted to be as prepared as possible and this books was KEY!

The book mentions the island’s founder Henry Flagler – establishing Palm Beach in 1894 for the ‘recuperative powers of Florida’s sunshine’ – as well as its guests, visitors, and residents: Isadora Duncan, Gloria Swanson, Marjorie Merriweather Post, the Kennedys, Larry Flynt, John Lennon, Estee Lauder, Donald Trump, the Dodges, Helmsleys, Pulitzers, Vanderbilts, Mizners, and Madoffs – to name a few.The book is more than tales of sex, drugs, and parties – or of mansions and El Mirasol. There is history behind the stories. Keeping to a rough chronological order, the book is separated into people and themes, rather than a strict timeline, which is an easy and orderly way to read about Palm Beach’s history of residents. For example, 60-year-old Robert Young’s railroad disaster of 1958 (and the years that led to his disaster), followed by the Kennedys in the 1960s, with the inauguration of John F Kennedy as America’s 35th president in 1961. Palm Beach Scandallion. This was okay. I bought as I live in one of the 10 000 Palm Beaches around the world and thought it would be fun to read on a week away. It was. It is easy to read. Made me chuckle out loud in a few places. It taught me nothing, well the history of the place was interesting the chapter at the start. It reaffirmed that money does not buy: sense, taste, intelligence, humour, manners, patience or morals. Pity. I hope the book makes the writers a few dollars - because there was the tiniest twinge of envy every now and then throughout the book. It needed to be written, a more history based one would have been nice but not as juicy! Also, the bane of my life, there were a few editing problems - which always irks me. I pay money to read a book, make sure it is at least spell checked and edited....Read it on the beach, preferably a Palm Beach, the Palm Beach if you can - and the ultimate? Add a new chapter.

If you're familiar with Palm Beach then you know that some of these stories were "just the beginning" - a LOT has transpired since this book was written -be sure to read the afterward . Many of these people have had entire books written about them if your interested.

I've studied theology for some years, and can honestly say this is the best and most accessible theology book I've read. Himes has a brilliant intellect and this book is virtually a written version of how he lectures his classes. Although it's profound theology, it's easy to read and often even entertaining. A book that provided me with many new and valuable theological insights and I have returned to it on a number of occasions to re-read sections.

I'm doing a lot of highlighting as I read. His ideas in this book are definitely not what I was expecting; yet there's nothing I've found that struck me as over-the-top. Lots of thinking and praying as a result of some of his "if you're comfortable with 'this,' you don't know what 'this' is or means."

Interesting book. Eye opening points about God & Jesus. I ordered it for my ministry class.

Very conversation provoking as Fr. Himes presents a different way at looking at our relationship with the world and our God. This book was used in our group discussions.

Himes uses shock value to get your attention in the way he presents ideas, but then follows them up with concrete reasons for his theological perspective on how to bring the Good News to the people we serve.

Had to read this for a college theology class. Rather liberal philosophy and several misquotations/interpretations of bible passages. Written in simple vernacular, making it easy for anyone to pick up and read.

Sarah Cash (author) and Jason Smith (illustrator) are sister and brother who were born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Sarah still resides in Atlanta with her husband, Bedford, their two daughters, Camryn and Danielle, and their two sons, Bedford III and Aaron. When she was growing up, her favorite books featured animal characters, which inspired her to write her own animal stories as an adult. Often children have so much stuff that they don’t realize they should share or have forgotten what their mothers taught them about sharing. In addition, too often our manners go out the window when we see “The Stinky Mouse” in society. The author had written a wonderful tale that reminds children and adults of this important lesson. I have been the “The Stinky Mouse” in my life in one form or another and it wasn’t any fun. Read this book to your children so that they’ll never forgot to treat everybody with respect.

My 3 year-old loves this book. She calls it the “Stinky Mouse” book. She even reminds me to read about the author and illustrator at the end of the book! It’s wonderful to have an author who is sensitive to lessons we should be practicing and teaching our children at an early age. I’m looking forward to sharing her next book with my daughter.

My 3 and 5 year old love this book! The length of the story is great for the attention span of young children plus it packs a great life lesson. This lesson is also a wonderful reminder for us adults who tend to get caught up in the daily routines of life. It’s a simple premise, be kind to others. This lesson rings true from the playground to the corporate board room. My girls had so many intriguing questions after this read. Great story + Great illustrations= A must have!!

Our boys loved Squeaky - although they disagreed with his vegetable of choice (broccoli.) ;) After reading, they were able to easily understand and apply the moral of the book. I love when a story can not only keep my kids engaged, but also leave them with a lesson that adds light and love to the world. A book that can do that is a treasure. Thankful to add Squeaky to our library and can’t wait to learn more from him in the future!

I am not going to give away any more details about this wonderful book. You're just going to have to buy a copy and read it for yourself. Buy it, read it, then be nice and pass it on.

As a storyteller, I am somewhat critical of what I read, but when I sampled the Kindle version of Squeaky and the Stinky Mouse, I knew right away that this was a good read for kids. I purchased my book and it arrived quickly. I've read this book several times to my grandson and he loved it. The great thing for me is that I'll get to enjoy this book for a long time as I have four more grand babies to read it with. Squeaky and the Stinky Mouse is a keeper!

I think what makes it extra special is that it's a sister and brother collaboration! Great story with wonderful hand-drawn pictures...not computer generated, either. Nice to see a story with a solid message about learning to not look down on others and lending a helping hand...good lessons for wee ones to learn in these days and times...right on point. Easy to read. Great for beginning readers. My grandson wants to hear it every night! Really looking forward to more Squeaky Tales...love Squeaky and Whiskers!!

I bought two copies of the book for my niece (2 y/o) and newborn nephew. My niece instantly loved the story and big, colorful art! It’s a great book with a great story with the added benefit of recognizable elements that kids love to point out. It creates a fun interaction between the book and the child. She even put the iPad down for the book! Now we’ve read it so many times that by the time my nephew can pay attention, my niece can read it with him!

It is fitting that the Valkyrie who stayed behind on earth to protect Asgard would once again put her people above her own welfare and sacrifice herself for the greater good. Mr Schubach writes a story that digs deep into the collective unconscious and mythic background and creates memes and themes that resound with anyone who has ever read the Norse myths.I truly love the way Mr Schubach makes these timeless stories live again by putting his own spin on them. Every time the Valkyries rush to battle, I hear Wagner in my head. Mr Schubach deftly stirs the heart while spinning a tale that excites and delights. The reader thrills to Kara's extraordinary courage and weeps over total devotion to those she loves.Edited to add: After the second reading, I am still astounded by how accurately Mr Schubach interprets the Poetic Edda. The poem called "Voluspa", for example, portrays Ymir as the primordial being from which everything was created, the origin of the Aesir and even the first of all the Jotun. The Bellows translation says, Of old was the age when Ymir lived; Seas nor cool waves nor sand there were; Earth had not been, nor heaven above, But a yawning gap ("Ginnungagap"), and grass nowhere.After reading Erik Schubach's Valkyrie series, if one were then to read the Poetic Edda, it would all sound definitive, accurate, and familiar. He gets the details right and makes them sound plausible.The Edda goes on to say that Ymir is altogether evil (by Odin's definition). Mr Schubach portrays this as a creater dissatisfied with his creation and determined to wipe it all out and start over. (cf Genesis chapter 7).The resonances which come from race memory, ancient mythology, and literary tradition make these books so much more rich and detailed than they would be without them.I know I'm the only reviewer who raves about the connections to Nordic mythology, but every new book amazes me with the depth and detail of his research. So many authors grab a mythological theme or a few characters and then make up their own details, but Erik Schubach researches and makes sure he gets the details right.The reason I always say so much about this is because it makes the books so much more enjoyable for me to read. Every time I read a new Valkyrie book, I get online or dig out some of my mythological tomes and look up details that are new (to me) or unusual. And EVERY SINGLE TIME, Erik Schubach has gotten all the details exactly right!Do you know how unusual this is? How many authors go to this much trouble to create accurate resonances with race memory, literary tradition and architypes that we all have vague memories of? These details enhance the stories so much and enrich my enjoyment so deeply that I just can't stop raving about it.

This had to have been a record for quickest time to make me cry and get frustrated, but I will admit it the tears and frustration was worth the read! Through out the journey Erik has taken us on with the Valkyrie Chronicles I know I have come to absolutely love each and every one of the characters. This installment is no different! I did not want to put it down (after the small fit I had in the beginning) even when I was at work! The new race introduced keeps your hackles raised as your root for our heroines and with each book you get to see new sides and even more depths to your favorite characters. And now there's a new character I can't wait to know about... NEXT PLEASE... RAUGH!

I am so happy I received the corrected download because I would've been upset at missing book four. It was worth the wait. "The Uniting" of the previously warring factions to defeat a threat to all worlds. The sense of community developed throughout the races showing peace can happen if you choose it. The constant is always love. I love it and can't wait for the next one. I have actually began reading Norse mythology. If you want or need a good vibe, read this book. Read them all. I've read many series that start to fizzle out a few books in but that is NOT the case with this series. Seventy Two Hours is easily the best book in this series so far, and I can't wait for the fifth book!This book is action packed and will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. One of my favorite parts though was seeing some things fully revealed that were just hinted at in previous books.

I Loved this book. For the most part you are reading the point of view of our most beloved characters Kara and kate, which put a smile on my face being so reminiscent of book one in the series. As for the plot, Asgard is under a great threat yet again but not by whom you would believe. Who is this new threat and will the great valkyrie of Asgard be able to stop them. You must read to find out, you won't be sorry.

Once again in his fourth book Erik Schubach has done an excellent job! The characters where as always humorous, well rounded and relatable. All of his Valkyrie books have been nonstop action packed and kept me guessing. Buy his books they are worth every penny you spend.

Everything Erik writes is great-not a single bad novel yet- this series is fantastic sci-fi with heroic women (with super-heroic powers) battling to save their alien culture and the planet Earth too

Erik has done it again! "Seventy Two Hours" is another worthy addition to the Vakyrie Chronicles! Non-stop action, a tight story line, and surprises galore. Everything we have come to expect from this great storytaler. The introduction of two new races was inspired and lends itself to further adventures. Looking forward to more adventures. I bought this book thinking there would be many plans for building outdoor playhouses. It started by recommending a pre-cut kit, which I wouldn't need a book to help me build. They only had one self built playhouse that did not look as good as a pre-cut kit. If you are looking for a book of detailed DIY plans, this isn't it.

It's very helpful for being something in the garden !

Black & Decker Play Structures & Backyard Fun is a great DIY tutorial! This guide has more than the traditional playground blueprints. It has plans for a backyard putting green, zipline, skateboard ramp and obstacle course, as a few examples. It offers useful tips on building materials, tools and safety. The step-by-step plans are accompanied by helpful color photos. Novice to advance DIYers will benefit from it. It is well worth the price.

An assortment of play structures to choose from were offered in a straightforward DIY tutorial. Always good to be reminded, it was nice to see that safety precautions were recommended when working with some tools and equipment. From the foundation on up everything was clearly categorized and shown step-by-step on how to build each of the structures. When followed carefully, the finished projects promise to come out masterfully done.
